Il Lago di Mergozzo

a small pretty lake with a very clean water is located in a beautiful and quiet location. The natural beauties that surround it make it an ideal destination for an unforgettable holiday in an atmosphere full of charm.
The village of Mergozzo is characterised by narrow lanes formed by typical Ossolan stone houses leaning against each other divided by steep streets and steps. The central square of the village is very characterful, dominated by the ancient elm tree that has been awarded the title of 'monumental tree of Piedmont' and its picturesque alleys. Mergozzo is a land of ancient settlements, of which we find evidence in the rich collection of the Antiquarium museum, but it is also known and renowned for the famous granite of Montorfano and marble of Candoglia.

The Lake Maggiore and its valleys:

Orta San Giulio (with Piazza and 16th-18th century palaces) is the small capital of the area, dominated by the Sacro Monte (20 chapels with statues and frescoes depicting the life of San Francesco d'Assisi) and fronted by the islet of San Giulio (Romanesque basilica, with a pulpit from the 12th century). A small village that has captivated writers and painters for centuries. A jewel of medieval architecture that extends between narrow and evocative alleys.
